Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Epic Charity Challenge D Day 2018 - National Navy SEAL Museum

To learn more about our D-Day 2018 event on June 6th check out this recent article spotlighting the charity work of retired Navy SEAL Lance Cummings, the leader of the Epic Charity Challenge. I'm honored to be on his team of active and retired Navy SEALS, military veterans, reservists and endurance athletes as we swim 6.2 miles (10KM) in the rough and cold English Channel into Omaha Beach (the site of the 1944 D-Day invasion by the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. The largest seaborne invasion in history, the operation began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front. German casualties on D-Day have been estimated at 4,000 to 9,000 men. Allied casualties were at least 10,000, with 4,414 confirmed dead.

Following the swim, we will be climbing the cliffs of Normandy to perform a wreath laying ceremony followed by a 45 pound ruck march 20 miles to Saint-Lô.

My preparation will include several major training day challenges, designed to push me out of my comfort zone and to bring more awareness to our fundraising efforts. I have begun my build up training for such an Epic event and will contiue to due so through the winter and leading up to the event. You will be able to follow my journey via Instagram and Face Book. That water is going to be rough, cold and unforgiving. Imagine being 6-7 miles out to sea swiming towards a compass heading in the dark. Yea, im a bit scared too, but what worth doing doesn't frighten you just a little. Its called Epic for a reason. Im honored to be allowed to participate in such an event.

I could use your motivation especially in the cold dark open waters of winter. Send me challenges. Get involved and come along this journey with me. Yes, the goal is to raise money for those who need it but lets push our comfort zones together. You may not be up for the English Channel swim but you are up for something. Find that thing and tell me about it. Iron shapens Iron lets do this together.

Send me into the COLD please.
